Jumper cable for emergency ignition
Ford Model A 1928-1931
If you're on the road and your ignition switch fails, this tool will get you home!
#1 Remove the existing ignition cable from the distributor base and thread the emergency jumper cable.
#2 Remove the red wire from the coil that goes to the ignition switch. Clamp the jumper cable to the
post of the coil where you just removed the red wire.
NOW voltage flows to the distributor so that the car is ready to start and drive.
When you stop the car, simply remove the terminal that is connected to the ignition coil.
If you do not remove this clip when stopping the car,
This can cause damage to the breaker contacts and the ignition coil.
The battery will also be discharged.
