This is the complete speedometer cable for 1930-1931' As with the round speedometer.

These have the original metal casing measuring 1/4" in diameter

Both ends of the cable are crimped square where they mate with the speedometer head and gearbox/housing assembly.

You cannot use this with oval speedometers,

because these have a larger square end on the cable

Annotation:

In some early speedometer drives with the deep hole, a small spacer must be inserted,

otherwise the speedometer cable will slip back and slide out of the top of the speedometer.
