KR Willson timing cover alignment tool

This small sleeve slides over the end of the cam and aligns the timing cover for installation

Installation instructions:

Remove the timer (distributor housing) and camshaftgasket .

Slide the alignment tool over the camshaft and into the gasket recess.

If the teacher fits, the control housing is correctly adjusted

if not, continue.

Unscrew all the bolts in the timing cover and the first 4 or 5 of the front ones

Bolts on each side of the oil pan.

Make sure the control housing moves freely and is not stuck on thegasket

A small boltdriver wedged between the tub and the block on either side will help with this

In some extreme cases it may be necessary to enlarge a few holes with a round file

Move the control cover until the alignment tool fits without tension

then first tighten the cover bolts on the front of the engine,

and then the oil pan bolts.

Remove the tool and reinstall thegasket on the camshaft.

Now is the perfect time to replace that felt gasket with a modern gasket
