The end of the speedometer cable slides into this shaft

Fits 1928-1930 Model A's with the oval speedometer.

This shaft is intended to hold the cable end, which is round and has a key on it

Annotation:

In some early speedometer drives with the deep hole, a small spacer must be inserted,

otherwise the speedometer cable will slip back and slide out of the top of the speedometer.
